Service Description

Hi! I'm Megan and I'm new here too, so let's go on this journey together... Well just as I started going back to school, COVID hit and suddenly I had all manner of free time. As schools started to return to in person, I was faced with a substantial loss of income and a new opportunity. I entered the world of community mental health. For over the last 2 years, I have spent my time using an integrated approach with middle schoolers, high schoolers, their parents, and the schools in an effort to promote wellness. I gained experience working with various struggles, numerous diagnoses, and have helped nearly 100 families find their way to a new normal when experiencing struggles such as homicidal ideation, suicidal ideation, sexual abuse and assault, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and more. This experience has given me perspective. I believe in play, even as adults. I believe that each and every one of us deserves to find our own brand of peace, and I want to help guide you to finding your own version of peace. I believe that the right song can heal. I believe that our words have the power to change the life of those around us, even when we use them on ourselves. Living a life authentic to our individuality is life's greatest achievement, and I would love to help you live as your authentic self. About me I am a therapy intern at this time, meaning that I am still in school. I have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Science with focus areas of Crisis Counseling, Family Advocacy, and Healthcare Administration from Liberty University. I am currently in my final 2 semesters of my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, also at Liberty University. I am a member of the American Counseling Association, and the American Association of Christian Counselors. While I am new to the world of private practice, I am not new to the world of helping others. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force. As previously mentioned, I was also an educator. For 13 years, I worked in several different positions in the Wentzville School District, acting as paraprofessional for a classroom aiding in educating those with significant impairments in functioning, a substitute teacher working with all ages and subject material, and finally as a building instructional assistant in a middle school offering me the opportunity to work with kids in a classroom and also aiding in de-escalation of students facing challenging situations and heightened emotions.
